Measure Up
'Measure Up' is a performance created specifically for Foundation Phase Deaf Children. The performance was developed in 2017 by visual theatre company FTH:K with support from the National Lotteries Commission. 'Measure Up' explores the world of friendship between two seemingly different children. Even the best of friends sometimes measure up against one another. The performance illustrate the frustrations and celebrations of young children standing out while also trying to fit in. ‘Measure Up’ makes use of South African Sign Language giving deaf learners the opportunity to enjoy a theatre performance in their mother tongue and also encouraging them in their ability to communicate through sign language usage. Directed by Jayne Batzofin and performed by Thalia Laric and Ryan de Villiers/Bo Tusker.
