Monsters and Fossils

Monsters and Fossils uses improvisation structures, somatic investigations and visual distortions to explore disappearances and appearances of the body: - how the body can be transformed through light, and how can an excavation of the material body create physical situations that transcend representation and identity. At the root of the work is the question – what is it to inhabit a body? How can I be more body, how can I be less body? The work aims to de-centre the power of representation and the dominance of visuality and instead search for ways to activate the senses of the witnesses to the dance, by altering perceptions of time, space and the body.
